Even Without a Ban to Worry About, SD Women Still Need Help

South Dakota has gotten plenty of national attention (and assistance) for the various campaigns to make abortion illegal. And while we've managed to beat those attempts, the average South Dakota woman's ability to access abortion may not be any more guaranteed than it was before.

The South Dakota Women's Health Fund, a fund established to help women with the costs associated with accessing abortion, is pretty much broke after a record several months of requests for help. For many women driving a full day to our state's only clinic or to a clinic in a neighboring state, where they may have to stay over night, pay for childcare, or certainly take a day off work, this fund may be their only hope. For those of you outside of South Dakota, Google Map Sioux Falls and see how far it is from pretty much everywhere else.

What good are multi-million dollar campaigns to protect 'choice' if someone doesn't have the means to exercise it? Without some immediate donations, the South Dakota Women's Health Fund will have to suspend their services. Please dig deep and support SDWHF so they can support South Dakota women.
