Sotomayor hearings today!

The confirmation hearings for Judge Sotomayor start today in the Senate. I'm sure Thune will continue to lead the Republican campaign to convince everyone that she's not up to the job, but we all know that's basically in vain. She's going to get confirmed, and then we get to go back to talking about health care, the Employee Free Choice Act, Employement Non-Discrimination Act, hate crimes legislation, climate change, and other legislative priorities.

In the meantime, I'll try to post highlights from the hearings as they progress. NARAL Pro-Choice America said earlier on Twitter that Operation Rescue co-founder Randall Terry is on the scene. If that isn't a recipe for crazy, I don't know what is.

Update: Apparently Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) agrees with me that this confirmation is basically inevitable. Earlier today, he told Sotomayor that "Unless you have a complete meltdown, you're going to get confirmed."
