I was interested to read about the '40 Days for Life' Lenten vigil outside of the Planned Parenthood clinic in Sioux Falls.
I got a message in the inbox, though, that tells me there's no one at all outside the clinic today! I guess "transforming the state" is only important when the sun's shining? As our e-mail correspondent noted, "What they should have said is 'we'll be praying in front of PP for 15 hours each day for the next 40 days, unless it's cold and snowy, then we'll say inside our cozy, warm homes.'"
Or, better yet, maybe they felt called during Lent to serve the people who are already here and already suffering, rather than bugging the patients and staff of Planned Parenthood. We can always hope.

From the Planned Parenthood Action Fund blog, SB 92 was voted down 4-3 in the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
I guess single-issue anti-choice zealots always have next year?

Our friends over at the SDSU Campus Women's Coalition are raising money via their blog, The F-Word to send some of their members to the National Young Women's Leadership Conference and I would encourage all of our supportive readers to throw a couple of bucks their way. That Girl and I presented at the Conference a few years ago and I was amazed at the number of young, progressive women from all over the country (and their ability to make me feel extremely old). It's a really great opportunity for young leaders to meet, strategize, and harass their congresspeople, so help them out if you can!
